Connecting acceptance of climate change with building sustainable homes

5 October @ 13:30 - 16:00

Sunday October 5 Connecting acceptance of climate change with building sustainable homes

The Off-Grid Solar House. Is it worth the effort?

Australians are coming to understand the need to design houses with climate change in mind, and they like solar energy.

Solar-powered hot water systems are one thing, but what about powering the whole house with solar batteries?

One valley home built in 2013/14  included a purpose -built solar power system that provides energy to the whole house.

Was it worth the effort and does it work? And what are key  features of a house designed with climate change in mind?

These and other questions answered by Peter Hughes, valley builder, in conversation with  Ilsa Konrads, off-grid house owner.

761A Upper Macdonald Road. 1.30-4pm. Drinks and nibbles at 3pm.
