MVA Events aims to connect all members of the Macdonald Valley who wish to participate in community activities, whether you are a Member of the Association or not.

The MVA is a unifying and active organisation that does many things consistent with its’ Mission Statement of ‘Protect, Enhance and Promote the Natural and Human Environment of the Macdonald Valley’.

One of these is to organise occasional community events, whilst meeting our broad goals of;

·       Promote Community Participation and Wellbeing
·       Create Opportunities for Local Business Involvement
·       Promote the Local Arts Community
·       Each Event to be Financially Self Sufficient

Strings at St Albans – FREE Community Concert

YOU ARE INVITED TO A VERY SPECIAL FREE EVENT

As part of our 3 day Strings at St Albans Workshop, between 30 and 40 players will present a stunning concert program to be held at the St Albans School of Arts Hall, 7 Upper Macdonald Road (just past the bridge turnoff), Saturday 25 May, from 6 – 7 pm.

The concert program includes these works from early classical to romantic and modern music:

  • Mozart – Sinfonia Concertante for Viola and Violin
  • Pachelbel – the ‘famous’ Canon in D
  • Leonard Cohen – Hallelujah
  • David Hines – Resilience (the premiere performance, composed for this concert)
  • Brahms – Hungarian Dance No 5
  • S. Bach– the beautiful theme from Wachet Auf
  • Glazunov – Interludium in Modo Antico, Andante
  • Purcell – extracts from Suite for Stings in G Major
  • Brahms – Theme from the First Symphony (arranged for cellos)
