Council is inviting community members within the Macdonald River, Colo River, Webbs Creek and Greens Creek locality to provide details in relation to recent or historic flooding that you have experienced or are aware of.
As part of Council’s floodplain management programs, Council is committed to finding solutions to reduce the risk to life and the social and economic damages of flooding. Council applied for and received a grant through the NSW Governments’ Floodplain Management Program to complete a Floodplain Risk Management Study and Plan for the Macdonald River, Colo River, Webbs Creek and Greens Creek.
This project will investigate flood behaviour and will identify measures to manage flood risks for these impacted communities.
Your local knowledge and personal experiences of flooding are an invaluable source of information and Council would welcome your input into this project. Your response will help us to understand flooding in the Macdonald River, Colo River, Webbs Creek and Greens Creek area, and help to develop strategies to reduce the impacts of flooding on people and property.
Information can be shared by individual submission addressed to the General Manager and submitted by mail to Hawkesbury City Council, PO Box 146 Windsor NSW 2756, or by email to council@hawkesbury.nsw.gov.au, or via completion of an online survey at www.yourhawkesbury-yoursay.com.au.
